About This Project

Years of standing water, harsh detergents, and nonstop vehicle traffic had destroyed the floors at a high-volume car wash and service center in Buffalo, NY. Tile was cracked and delaminating in the service bays, and the concrete in the wash tunnel was eroded down to exposed aggregate. Slip-and-fall hazards, chemical containment, and GMP-level cleanliness standards were all on the line. Shutting down for a lengthy rebuild was not an option.

Tufco replaced 7,500 sq ft of cracked tile and eroded concrete with seamless Tufcrete urethane and DC Chip epoxy — installed by our own crews with all work completed in just 7 days.

The Solution

Tufco’s own W-2 crews — no subcontractors, no “certified installers” — installed 4,500 sq ft of Tufcrete Urethane Flooring through the wash tunnel, where standing water, extreme detergents, and conveyor traffic demand the toughest system we make. In the service bays and support areas, we installed 3,000 sq ft of DC Chip Epoxy — a decorative chip system with a slip-resistant, chemical-resistant finish that cleans up fast and looks sharp for customers.

The result is an impervious, seamless floor that holds up to the harshest detergents and constant vehicular traffic — with the slip resistance and chemical containment this facility needed to protect employees, customers, and GMP compliance. All work was completed in 7 days, start to finish.
